Thinking of Buying a New Home?
Changing your living situation is a big step. Whether it's because you just moved to town, want to upsize,
want to downsize, or need a yard for the new dog, I can be there to help navigate the process.
Why Hire a REALTOR®?
A REALTOR ® is more than just a real estate agent. They are members of a professional board that require them to abide by additional rules and a Code of Ethics that give further protection to the consumer. Being a member also gives them access to the Multiple Listing Service ® of that board, an invaluable tool that your REALTOR ® can use in helping you quickly and effectively locate a home that fits your needs.
The home buying process can be quite a lot to do on your own. Hiring a professional can help you tackle those tasks smoothly, and allow more time for you spend with your family or on hobbies important to you. When buying a home, a REALTOR® can help you identify homes for sale that fit your needs and book an appointment with the listing agent to view that home. They will walk through the home with you and take note of your feedback.
Once you find a home that you love, your REALTOR® will help you put together an offer to be presented to the seller. They are trained in understanding the contract process, and help in negotiating the terms of a contract in you favour. Any questions you may have about the process, you've got someone there who has your answers.
Each REALTOR® may offer different services, so ask beforehand which ones they would provide to you.
Tips for Buying
2. Interview multiple agents to find someone who you can work well and connect with. You’ll be working closely together for some time and want to make sure their goals match your own.
3. Talk face to face with a mortgage specialist about the cost of home ownership and getting a firm Pre-Approval at the start of your home search. You want to be prepared and not worry about whether or not you can afford the home of your dreams once you’ve found it. Also make sure you’ve asked about finding a price point that you are comfortable with, not just the maximum you can get.
